![]() ![]() ![]() Recommend - This book is best digested in small pieces, particularly if those pieces are areas of interest for you already. Reread - Per my own rubric, I do own this book and I plan to keep it, so I can’t in good conscious give it a 1. That being said, volume one ends with a strange pitch for volume 3 and it’s not totally clear where volume 2 is going to pick up. I’m not 100% sure they aren’t made up, but the technical jargon is on point.Ĭonclusion - This is volume 1 in a 5 volume behemoth. Prose - Not exactly beautiful but Pelikan uses some of the most descriptive words I have read. ![]() I would have given this a 1, but the marginalia was done really well, especially since there are hundreds of citations.ĥ0 Page/Tired - Not a real page-turner, but it is filled with great citations, which is probably also why it is not a page-turner. Design - I understand that this is an academic book and that design is often overlooked…but the cover from the 1970s leaves room for improvement. ![]()
